Some very lucky person is going to WIN this beautiful instrument together with the other major prize we have on offer.
We are very proud to offer this exceptional BRAND NEW 2026 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom ‘68 Reissue in Ebony Black. It’s the ultimate step in vintage correct accuracy: the True Historic Series. For years, the Gibson Custom Shop has made exceptional strides and gone to painstaking lengths to improve upon their wonderful Historic reissues.
From new plastics composed of the original vintage spec material, to the double carving of tops and necks to ensure vintage accurate profiles and dishing, these True Historic reissues are about as close as it get's to owning a real vintage instrument. A new finish process with time-intensive wet sanding by hand completes the package, delivering an instrument that not only looks authentic, but feels and sounds so too.
Capped off with all hide glue construction and extensive setup process, the new True Historic line captures the essence of our favourite vintage pieces and creates a new era of golden age instruments just waiting to be discovered.
Due to the time-intensive labour and old world manufacturing processes, True Historic models are extremely limited in production.
The Gibson Custom Shop is the pinnacle of accuracy, attention to detail, craftsmanship quality, and sound excellence that approaches that of the originals.
The 1968 Les Paul Custom was distinct from its 1950s counterparts in several ways. First, the mahogany body was replaced by a mahogany back and solid maple top construction. Also, instead of the three humbuckers of the previous Custom, it had two humbuckers, which gave it more clearance in the picking area. In addition, the pegheads are now angled at 14 degrees to reduce string tension.
These features quickly attracted many rock guitarists and set a new standard for subsequent Les Paul Customs.
Check out the video we will be sending around soon to get a closer look at this Les Paul Custom and the other prizes that come with it. This ‘68 Custom Shop Les Paul Custom is set up well and plays fast and smooth up and down the neck.
